Our school was established in 1981 as a facility to accommodate the overflow of children from Seemeeu Park Pre Primary School. It was called Seemeeu Park 2 and only changed name later in the year to Strandlopertjie. The first principal was Me Elize Kotze.
In 2023 there will be three qualified teachers, Nadia Meyer - Principal (Bed Foundation Phase & Bed-Hons Psycho Education), Ronelle Blaauw (Bed Foundation Phase) and Hayley Le Hane (Bed Foundation Final Year Student). We are adding Coding & Robotics in our curriculum and a 4 year old class in 2023.
Strandlopertjie became an independent school in 1998, which means that the affairs of the school will be conducted by a Management Committee elected by parents of learners in our school. The principal is a permanent member of this body.
It is the responsibility of the parents, as partners of the school, to assist with the maintenance of the school.
At Strandlopertjie we implement the curriculum as prescribed by the Western Cape Educational Department. A maximum of 30 learners per class is allowed.
Opportunities are created to enable children to develop their skills, to experiment, explore, make conclusions and to resolve problems.
Our aim is to support and guide your child to develop as a whole – emotionally, socially, intellectually and physically.
For the next year or two your child will be in the care of teachers who will endeavor to develop your child as a whole.
Strandlopertjie Aftercare intends to provide a safe and child friendly environment for you child to develop. We believe in providing a happy and safe "play centre" where your child can unwind after a strenuous day at school.
We make provision for Pre-grade R to Grade 2.
