EDUCATIONAL AIMS

TODAY’S CHILDREN – TOMORROW’S ADULTS

Our children are growing up in a rapidly changing world.  The school needs to meet the challenges and technical advancement of our times.

The teacher needs to adapt her teaching methods to meet the needs of growing minds.  She has the responsibility to teach her learners thinkers who learn to solve problems in their own way.

The teacher will create a stimulating, secure environment where the child can learn and be happy and confident.  She will continuously assess the child and report to the parents about their child’s progress.

Learn Through Play

At Strandlopertjie we implement the curriculum as prescribed by the Western Cape Educational Department.  A maximum of 30 learners per class is allowed.

Opportunities are created to enable children to develop their skills, to experiment, explore, make conclusions and to resolve problems.

Our aim is to support and guide your child to develop as a whole – emotionally, socially, intellectually and physically.

How do we achieve it?

A balanced program  is provided – religious instruction, discussions, creative activities, music and movement experiences, perceptual games and stories.

LEARNING THROUGH PLAY :
The importance of play in the education of young children is universal appreciated.  Play is the natural way in which children learn.

TO PLAY IS TO LEARN!

For young children, play is a serious business.  This is the way they grow, develop and learn.  Of course, playing is fun too and children spend nearly all their waking hours at it in one form or another.
